    MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

    THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2022

     

     

    Attention Middle School Students:  Do you like helping others?  Do you want to make a difference in our community and the world?  If so, come to the React Club!  We will be meeting on Tuesday, October 11th at 2:50 in room 104.  All middle school students are welcome.  Please email or see Mrs. Schoenkopf with any questions.

     

    PRHS will host our annual Financial Aid Night on Thursday, October 13th, at 7 PM in the Little Theater.  Parents/Guardians and students are encouraged to attend to learn about the financial aid process and FAFSA. 

     

     

    The HS Student Council is hosting our first Spirit Week of the 2022-2023 school year.

    Tuesday, October 11th          will kick off Spirit Week with Pajama Day!

    Wednesday, October 12th is Celebrity Day – dress like your favorite celebrity!

    Thursday, October 13th is Class Colors Day – see the bulletin board outside the cafeteria for which color is assigned to each class.

    Friday, October 14th is Maroon and White Day.  Wear your favorite Park Ridge Spirit Wear!

     

    Remember that for each day you still need to follow the School Dress code policy!  Friday the 14th will also be our Fall Pep Rally where we will recognize our fall athletes grades 7-12.  This is the first one in 3 years!  We are very excited to bring it back!  Student Council members will be looking for students and staff to sign up and participate in the Pep Rally.

    Events:  Musical Chairs, Singing, and Tug of War!

    As always, the more each class participates the more points are earned for the class towards an ice cream social at the end of the school year!

    The Middle School Book Club will be meeting today during lunch 9.  Join us to discuss Bloom by Kenneth Oppel.

     

     

    Congratulations to the Marching Owls on taking FIRST PLACE in Group IA in the Colors in Motion Competition at Ramsey High School on Saturday evening!  Besides increasing their score, they took home all the caption awards, including Best Visual, Best Effect, Best Music, Best Color Guard, and Best Percussion!  Wish them luck as they head to MetLife Stadium on Saturday for the Ludwig Musser Classic, and on Sunday for the Bergen County Invitational!  Eyes with Pride!

    Hey…Seniors!!  Your cap and gown orders are due today!!! You can find the information on Schoology. 

     

     

    THE BELLS WILL BE SHUT OFF DURING PERIODS 1/2 AND 3/4 FOR TESTING.  THEY WILL RESUME PERIOD 5/6.

     

    Important message to all students taking the Start Strong test on Monday and Tuesday:  In order to access your test, you must install the updated TestNav app.  Many of you have already completed this task with your teacher in class, but for those that have not, please be sure to shut down your laptop, log back in, open up applications, go to Self-Serve, and install the updated version of TestNav prior to Monday morning.

    Also, be sure to charge your laptops and bring wired headphones to your testing session.  Bluetooth and wireless speakers are not permitted.

    Hey…Seniors!!  Your cap and gown orders are due this Friday!!! You can find the information on Schoology. 

     

    For all high students who are interested in working on the yearbook, there will be a yearbook club interest meeting on Friday, September 30th at 7:20am in room 23.

     

    Students in grades 7 and 8 interested in creative writing should attend the informational meeting about Stepping Stones, the middle school literary magazine after school today in the Media Center. 

     

    Any 7th or 8th grader who is interested in joining Math Club, we are having an interest meeting today at 2:45pm in room 24.  If you are interested and unable to attend the meeting, please see Mrs. Palacios in room 24.

     

    Attention all 9th graders:  All 9th grade students will be taking the NJ Start Strong Science 9 assessment tomorrow, Friday, September 30th.  Testing will begin promptly at 7:50am.  Testing room assignments will be shared in your English class as well as posted outside the main office.  Also, if you have not installed the latest version of TestNav, be sure to look on Schoology and follow the directions for installing this update.  Lastly, don’t forget to charge your laptop and bring your wired headphones on Friday.
